Most Level 2 installs in our service area fall between $900 and $1,400. Here's what separates those two numbers — and what's always included.
What we quote is what you pay. Pricing is affected by panel capacity, wiring distance, and whether outdoor weatherproofing is needed — we explain each factor upfront. PA homeowners: there is currently no PECO residential EV charger installation rebate. NJ homeowners served by PSE&G may qualify for a make-ready incentive of $50–$1,500 depending on eligibility and project scope. The federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit may also apply: up to 30% of qualifying costs (up to $1,000 residential), for qualifying installations placed in service by June 30, 2026, subject to census tract eligibility and your individual tax situation. Incentives and tax credits are subject to program availability and customer eligibility — we do not guarantee approval. Ask us for guidance, and confirm with a tax advisor.
Every home is different. Here's how we approach residential installs — and what each path includes.
Many homes built before 2000 have 100-amp electrical panels which may not support Level 2 EV chargers. If your panel is full or underpowered, a licensed electrician may recommend upgrading to a 200-amp service panel.
This is a common and straightforward upgrade — our electricians handle the permit, utility coordination, and inspection from start to finish.
Most homeowners are back to normal within a single afternoon. Here's what the timeline looks like.
We specialize in residential and light commercial EV charger installations across PA and NJ. Here's who we serve best.
A standard 120V outlet will charge your EV — just not in any practical way. Here's the real difference.
Every home is different. Here are the install situations we see most often across our service area — and how we approach each one.
Many Philly rowhomes have electrical panels in the basement and limited options for routing to street-level parking or a converted garage. We assess available breaker space, check the routing path, and determine whether conduit needs to run along the exterior wall or through the utility area before we quote anything.
The most common install type across Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties: panel in the utility room or basement, charger on the garage wall. When the routing is direct and panel capacity is available, most of these jobs complete in a single visit with a clean result.
Homes with detached garages require wiring to travel from the main panel — either overhead, through conduit on the exterior wall, or underground. Underground conduit adds cost and a few hours to the job but is often the cleanest, most durable solution long-term. We scope this at the site visit.
Homes with a 100-amp panel — or a 200A panel with no available breaker slots — need an upgrade or circuit reconfiguration before a Level 2 charger can be installed safely. We identify this during the free site assessment. Where it makes sense, we bundle the panel upgrade and charger install into a single coordinated job.
The Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector is the most-requested charger brand in our service area. When the panel and routing line up, it's one of the cleanest installations we do. We configure it through the Tesla app, verify vehicle pairing, and confirm the charge rate before we leave. All current Tesla models supported.
Not every home has garage parking. For driveway-adjacent or exterior wall installs — common in South Jersey townhomes and some PA townships — we use weatherproof-rated hardware, outdoor-grade conduit, and mount the charger in a protected location that holds up year-round.
Every installation through Expert EV Installers is completed by a licensed electrician within our vetted contractor network. We partner with experienced EV charger installers across Pennsylvania and New Jersey who specialize in Tesla Wall Connector installations, Level 2 EV charger installations, dedicated EV charging circuits, and electrical panel upgrades.
Pennsylvania & New Jersey · Licensed & Insured · Residential EV charger installations. All electricians in our network are required to meet strict standards including proper licensing, insurance coverage, and EV charger installation experience.
We're not a national franchise with a call center. We're a locally focused operation — and that means every install, every permit, every customer actually matters to us.
Every electrician we work with carries a current PA or NJ electrical license and full general liability insurance. We don't send handymen — every installer in our network meets strict licensing, insurance, and experience requirements.
You'll receive a firm written quote before any work begins. What we quote is what you pay — no surprise line items, no "we noticed something extra while we were there." Scope changes are discussed with you first.
We pull every permit and schedule inspections where required. An unpermitted EV charger can void your homeowner's insurance and create complications when you sell. We won't let you walk into that problem.
When you submit a quote request during business hours, you hear back within 2 hours — from a person, not an automated sequence. No call centers. No offshore routing. Local team, local knowledge.
We're building this reputation from job one. That means we have more motivation than any established company to make sure you're genuinely happy. We don't have the luxury of a bad job — and honestly, we wouldn't want it.
Every installation comes with a 1-year written workmanship warranty. If something fails due to our work, we return and fix it at no charge. You get this in writing before the job starts — not after.
A note from our founder: "I know how this industry works. Most platforms collect your info and don't care what happens next. I'm building Expert EV Installers because homeowners in this area deserve a proper install — permitted, rebated, and done right by someone accountable. Every contractor in our network is held to the same high standard. We're newer than the big names, and that's exactly why we're more motivated." — Expert EV Installers, Philadelphia PA

Purpose-built for Tesla owners. Gen 3 Wall Connector, configured with your Tesla app, with scheduling and energy monitoring. All Tesla models supported.

Available incentives depend on where you live and your utility provider. Programs change frequently — we walk you through what's currently active for your specific location so you don't miss anything you may be eligible for.
There is currently no PECO residential EV charger installation rebate. PA homeowners may still qualify for the federal EV charger tax credit — see below. PECO does offer a separate $50 EV driver reporting credit for customers who notify PECO they purchased an EV.
PSE&G residential customers in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties may qualify for a make-ready incentive of $50–$1,500 per charger toward wiring, permits, and panel upgrade costs. Eligibility and amount depend on the project scope. Note: PSE&G's off-peak charging credit program is being phased out (no new applicants as of January 13, 2026) — this does not affect the make-ready incentive.
The federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (IRS Form 8911) may cover up to 30% of qualifying costs (up to $1,000) for eligible home charger installations placed in service by June 30, 2026. Eligibility depends on whether your property is in a qualifying census tract and your individual tax situation — confirm with a tax advisor. We provide itemized documentation to support your filing.
We track active installation offers from Tesla, Ford, GM, and Rivian to ensure you aren't leaving money on the table at the time of purchase.
As a licensed contractor, we ensure your installation qualifies as a "Capital Improvement," meaning you pay $0 in sales tax on the labor for your project.
No surprises. Here's exactly what happens when our electrician shows up at your home.
Your electrician arrives within the scheduled window with all required tools, materials, and the charger (if we supplied it). No "I need to go get a part" situations.
They'll walk you through the plan — where wires run, where the charger mounts, and exactly what the permit covers. You sign off before a single screw is turned.
Wires are routed neatly — not draped across the wall. Conduit is straight. The charger is level. Your garage is cleaner when we leave than when we arrived.
Before we pack up, we plug in your EV, confirm the charger communicates with your car's app, and walk you through any settings. You leave knowing exactly how to use it.
We schedule the electrical inspection with your township before we leave. You don't have to chase anyone down. When it passes, we send you the paperwork.
Before we wrap up, we walk you through the utility and federal incentive programs you may qualify for, explain what documentation you'll need, and point you to how to apply. Rebate timelines vary by program.
We earn our reputation one install at a time — no purchased reviews, no fake stars. Read what our customers say, or be one of our first reviewers after your install.
We work across 5 Pennsylvania counties and 3 South Jersey counties — and we know the permit requirements, utility programs, and local inspectors in each one.
